Is Seat the Day free?
Yes. You can build a complete seating chart for free with no credit card, for up to 5 tables. You sign in with Google to get started. Need more tables, the catering plan or the shot list? Unlock the wedding for a one-time $14.
What do I get when I unlock?
The catering plan with vendor meals, the shot list for your photographer, the Who’s Who face sheet, unlimited tables, and prints without the free-plan watermark. It’s a one-time fee per wedding, not a subscription. The guest list, the seating chart, printing, the QR seat finder and change history are all in the free plan.
What’s the watermark on free prints?
Printing is free, and so is saving a PDF from the print dialog. On the free plan the seating chart prints with a light diagonal line of text across each page saying it came from the free version. It is faint enough to read straight through. Unlocking the wedding removes it.
Is the $14 fee recurring?
No. It's a one-time payment per wedding. Once you unlock a wedding, it stays unlocked — no monthly charges, no renewal.
What happens if I hit 5 tables on the free plan?
You'll see a prompt to unlock the wedding for $14. Your existing chart, guests, and layout are preserved — nothing is lost or reset.
I’m planning more than one wedding. Do I pay again?
Yes. The $14 is per wedding, and each one unlocks on its own — so a planner running three weddings pays three times, and a couple planning one pays once. Every wedding starts free with its own five tables, so you only pay for the ones that outgrow them.
Does the number of guests change the price?
No. Guests are unlimited on both plans, and the price never moves with your headcount. A 40-guest wedding across six tables needs unlocking for the tables, and a 200-guest wedding across five does not, unless you want the catering plan, the shot list or Who’s Who.
Does the free plan expire?
No. There is no trial clock and no countdown. You can start your list a year out, leave it alone for months, and come back to it exactly as you left it.
Do I need a Google account?
Yes. You sign in with Google, and your guest list lives in a Google Sheet you own rather than locked inside our database. That is also how you share it: anyone you give access to the Sheet can edit the list, with no account here of their own.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If Seat the Day isn’t right for you, you can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase, as long as it’s before your wedding date. Email support@seattheday.com or use our contact form to request one.
